Scope of Works

Loyal Orange House on Elizabeth Street, Melbourne is a high-end gallery and community space where lighting was central to the overall vision and visitor experience. The project combined a highly considered architectural lighting outcome with complex, largely unseen infrastructure works required to bring the site's power supply up to modernstandards.

Electrical scope:

  • Full electrical and communications installation across the gallery and community spaces
  • Custom lighting and control system, developed in close collaboration with specialist lighting suppliers, with individual attention given to how each piece of artwork was lit and presented
  • Abolishment of existing multi-metered supplies, simplifying and modernising the site's electrical infrastructure
  • Isolation and removal of overhead lines, carefully planned and sequenced to maintain safety and continuity of supply during the transition
  • Coordination with network authorities to secure a site-wide supply upgrade, involving detailed liaison to align technical requirements with regulatory approval processes

The result is a considered balance of front-of-house design outcome and back-of-house technical complexity, a strong example of JMP's capability combining authority coordination, technical delivery and a high-end architectural finish.
