Kinetic Bus Depot

The Heatherton site is a single-gantry BEB (Battery Electric Bus) charging installation, delivering high-capacity charging infrastructure to support the depot's growing electric bus fleet.

Electrical scope:

• New substation supply and Main Switchboard installed, establishing a new 1300A supply to site and ensuring robust, future-ready capacity for the depot's charging operations
• A single gantry structure housing four power units, with cabling reticulating to twenty-two chargers and reels mounted along its length
• Two ground-mount fast chargers installed, providing flexible, rapid-charging options alongside the primary gantry system
• Automated RFID control system integrated across every charger and reel, backed by manual override, enabling chargers to lower safely and reliably from the gantry as each bus arrives

The combination of upgraded electrical infrastructure and a fully automated charging system positions Heatherton as a high-capacity, purpose-built depot ready to support large-scale BEB fleet operations.
