Kinetic Bus Depot

Scope of Works
The Sunshine West depot is a large-scale overhead gantry BEB (Battery Electric Bus) charging installation, delivering high-capacity charging infrastructure across three gantry structures on site, delivered in partnership with builder 2Construct as part of Kinetic's transition to an electric bus fleet.
Electrical scope:
- Site Main Switchboard upgrade, integrating one existing and one new transformer to provide sufficient supply capacity for the new BEB charging system
- An MDB installed at the base of each gantry, with cabling reticulated up to the power units mounted above
- Gantries 1 and 2 each fitted with two power units, twelve chargers and twelve charging reels, complemented by a ground-mount fast charger
- Gantry 3, the largest of the three, housing three power units and fourteen chargers and reels
- Automated RFID control system integrated across every charger and reel, backed by manual override, enabling chargers to lower safely and reliably from the gantry as each bus arrives
A strong example of the heavy-current, smart-automation work JMP delivers for major fleet electrification projects, combining high-capacity power delivery with the automated systems that make large-scale EV charging efficient at depot scale.
Let's talk about what's in the pipeline.
Whether it's a single site or a multi-stage project, our team is ready to scope it properly and get moving.
