Hangar 83

Scope of Works
Hangar 83 at Essendon Fields was developed for global aviation leader Textron Aviation as a Melbourne service facility supporting Cessna Aircraft Company and Beechcraft, comprising large-scale hangar infrastructure, specialised sheetmetal and wheelshop areas, parts storage and office facilities. Delivered in partnership with 2Construct, the project demanded the integration of major power infrastructure alongside specialist aviation systems, all within an active airport environment.
Electrical scope:
- Main Switchboard upgrade and extension, providing sufficient capacity for the facility's substantial operational load
- Commissioning of large-format hangar doors, integrating specialist power and control requirements for heavy mechanical equipment
- Lighting design and installation across hangar, workshop and office areas
- Advanced lighting control systems, providing zoned and efficient management of lighting across the large-format facility
- Extensive underground services, supporting the site's power distribution and communications infrastructure
All works were coordinated within an active airside environment under strict access, safety and operational requirements, a significant aviation project delivered to the highest standard by the JMP team.
